The Galvan Open Back Fly Reels were introduced in March of 1999 and have become some of our top selling reels. The Open Back incorporates a large arbor for a few benefits. First, the large diameter on the Open Back increases retrieve speed and the fly Line is picked up more rapidly than a conventional spool.
